A retrospective exhibition of Zanele Muholi, one of the most acclaimed photographers working today. Since the early 2000s, Muholi, who describes themself as a visual activist, documents the lives of black LGBTQIAPN+ community in South Africa and the world. The exhibition brings together their main photographic series, especially Faces and Phases (an extensive project dating 2006, with over hundreds of pictures, that portraits lesbian, bissexual, non-binary, and transmasculine people), Somnyama Ngomyama (self-portraits referring to racism, work politics, eurocentrism, and sexuality), Brave Beauties and original works produced in Brazil.

Zanele Muholi (1972, Umlazi, South Africa) is an artist and visual activist. Author of Faces and Phases (2014), and Somnyama Ngonyama, vol. 1 and 2 (2018/2024). Founder of Inkanyso, a forum for queer and visual media. Their work has been exhibited at the Documenta 13 (2012), in Kassel, the 55th Venice Biennale (2013) and at the 29th São Paulo Biennale. Muholi was the cover for ZUM #11 magazine.
