Thomaz Farkas, Allthepeople brings together around 500 items, including photographs, films, documents, and equipment, reflecting the artist's inclusive and collaborative trajectory. Divided into thematic sections, it explores his work as a photographer and filmmaker, highlighting the documentary series Brasil verdade [True Brazil] and A condição brasileira [The Brazilian Condition], as well as films like Todomundo [Allthepeople] and Subterrâneos do futebol [Football Underground], which reveal his welcoming and curious view of his adoptive country. The exhibition seeks to recreate Farkas' collective and generous spirit, present both in his artistic production and his role as a cultural promoter and businessman, with the creation of Galeria Fotoptica.

Born in Budapest in 1924, Thomaz Farkas arrived in Brazil at the age of six, and his passion for photography began at the age of eight. Between 1940 and 1990, he produced more than 34,000 images that captured decisive moments in Brazil, which are now kept by the IMS. A member of Foto Cine Clube Bandeirante in the 1940s, he was influenced by direct photography from the USA and documented the modernization of São Paulo. He expanded his focus to humanist themes, as in his series on Brasilia, the Amazon, and the Northeast. Between 1960 and 1987, he revolutionized Brazilian photography with Fotoptica and Galeria Fotoptica.
