Explore the life, work, and creative vision of filmmaker Eduardo Coutinho. A vast array of audiovisual material, combined with personal documents, objects, and photos from his own collection and those of his peers, provides a unique glimpse into the man behind the camera. First created by Itaú Cultural in São Paulo and previously on display at IMS Rio, the exhibition now comes to Poços de Caldas, featuring a new design and a full schedule of related activities.

Eduardo Coutinho (1933-2014) began his career as a screenwriter and director of fiction film. He transitioned to documentaries through television, producing pioneering programs for Globo Repórter about the Brazilian interior. He cemented his reputation in the genre in 1985 by reviving a project cut short by the 1964 military coup as a documentary: Twenty Years Later, which is considered a landmark of Brazilian and world cinema. In 1999, at age 66, he experienced a creative renaissance with The Mighty Split, kicking off a succession of major films such as Babilônia 2000, Master, a Building in Copacabana), Metalworkers, Playing, and Songs. Coutinho's final work, Last Conversations, was completed after his death by João Moreira Salles and released in 2015 at the É Tudo Verdade festival.
